What is the differance between a guided trip and a charter trip?

Charter trips are tippically run in the ocean, bays and lower tide waters of coastal areas. These trips are on larger boats from 30 to 50 feet in length that can accommodate from 6 to 20 persons.

Guide trips are run in smaller boats. The size depends on the type of trip. Drift boat trips are run in 16 to 20 foot non motorized boats. Jet sled power boat trips are run in 24 to 26 foot boats.

When is the best time of year to catch fish?

That depends on the type of fish you want to catch. Some fish, like white sturgeon, bite year-round while others like walleye bite better at certain times of the year.

There are also quota based fisheries like halibut, salmon and sturgeon. These fisheries have set limits each year and once that limit is reached the fishery is closed.

We will be happy to answer any questions you my have regarding quota based fisheries.
